The European Society of Nephrology (ERA) is an association of physicians with over 7000 members. It is registered in England and Wales, but its area of activity mainly covers Europe and the Mediterranean area. The ERA’s objective is the advancement of medical science and of clinical work in nephrology, dialysis, renal transplantation, hypertension and related subjects. ERA aims at providing up-to-date knowledge, exclusively based on scientific data, independent from governments’ policies and from any influence of the industry.

International Society for Peritoneal Dialysis (ISPD) – a society to advance knowledge of peritoneal dialysis and to promote advancement of such knowledge through international scientific meetings and scientific publications.
American Society of Nephrology (ASN) – founded in 1967 as a nonprofit corporation to enhance and assist the study and practice of nephrology, to provide a forum for the promulgation of research, and to meet the professional and continuing education needs of its members.
Renal Physicians Association (RPA) – the only national medical association to represent renal physicians and their practice managers. RPA advocates on behalf of these internal medicine subspecialty physicians for fair practice and reimbursement legislation and regulation.
American Society for Artificial Internal Organs (ASAIO) – consists of over 1,000 members who comprise a diverse group of specialists from 40 different countries with over 30 different professional degrees and who represent government, universities, industry, private hospitals, and independent research groups. The areas of nephrology, biomaterials, and cardiopulmonary devices are heavily represented, as are numerous other specialized interests.
